# mochi ai config set tools

Set what AI chat is allowed to do

## Synopsis

Sets what AI chat may do, by tier:

read-only  look things up
caution    also make changes that are easy to undo
edit       also edit flow and workspace files
full       also run tasks and commands

Edits and runs are confirmed first. At the full tier, the desktop app can skip asking: --approval trusted runs tasks from trusted workspaces without asking, and --approval auto approves everything except tasks from workspaces you haven't trusted.

mochi ai config set tools [flags]
```

## Options

| Flag | Type | Description |
|------|------|-------------|
| `--approval` | `string` | When the desktop app asks first: ask, trusted, or auto (full tier only) |
| `-h, --help` |  | help for tools |
| `-o, --output` | `string` | Output format: text or json (default "text") |
| `--tier` | `string` | read-only, caution, edit, or full |

| `-L, --log-level` | `string` | Log verbosity level (debug, info, fatal) (default "info") |
| `--sync` |  | Sync flow cache and workspaces |
