# Views

A view is a named dashboard: an ordered list of **sections** rendered top to bottom. Views
aren't tied to one workspace. A view spans as many workspaces as its sections reach.

There are no views until you make one. In the desktop app, the **+** beside **Views** in
the sidebar creates one.

Sections can list executables matching a filter (for example, everything tagged
`deploy`), show run history, report a workspace's status, or hold your own notes.

## Commands

| Command | Does |

| `mochi views show <view>` | Render a view |
| `mochi views refs <view>` | Print the executable references a view selects, one per line |
| `mochi views reset` | Delete every view, including a views file that can't be read |

`views refs` prints one reference per line, so it pipes into other commands.

## Building a view

**New view** in the sidebar starts from a blank page or a ready-made layout (**Project**,
**Health**, **Triage**, **Release**). On a view, **Edit view** lets you **Add a section**,
move sections up and down, remove them, and change each one's title, width, filter, limit,
grouping and sort. **Done** saves it.

Section types:

| **Notes** | Text you write |

A filter is a list of `field:value` terms, and a leading `-` excludes matches:

| `lastrun` | When it last ran: `today`, `week`, `month`, `older`, `never` |
| `is:favorite` | Your favorites |
| `ran` | Runs within a window: `30m`, `12h`, `7d`, `4w`. Run sections only |
| `status` | `running`, `success`, `failed`. Run sections only |
| `source`, `client` | Who started a run: `cli`, `desktop`, `mcp`, or a client name (`client:*` for any agent). Run sections only |

To put one executable on a view, use **Add to view…** in its menu on the Executables page.
